No7 Cosmetics brand was launched in 1935, with extensive publicity. Initially the range was available in just 50 of the 1000 Boots branches then open across the country; but demand was such that supplies were soon sent to all branches and output from the factories in Beeston was increased.
The 1980s and 1990s saw the No7 cosmetics and No17 Cosmetics ranges re launched, with new products and packaging, in 1980, 1986, 1991 and 1995. In 1995 over 30 new products, 150 new shades and more than 300 products in all with redesigned packaging and new display counters were launched into 1100 Boots stores overnight. Today No7 Cosmetics and No17 cosmetics are the leading cosmetics brands in the United Kingdom.
