The Ford twins created Benefit cosmetics in the 70s after a successful career as commercial models and makeup artists. During their professional careers dabbling in all things beauty, they found they could not find the makeup they wanted or needed. At the age of 25, their passion for cosmetics inspired them to open a small Benefit Cosmetics boutique in San Francisco.  
This "double trouble" duo suddenly became an overnight sensation (no surprise) thanks to the ingenious products they introduced to the beauty world.
